Can a woman’s fertility problem dependent on the clothes worn! Women that presented to an ‘in vitro fertility clinic’ in MA. were found to have chemicals of three clothing flame retardants by-products in their urine. The chemicals were:

– diphenyl phosphate (DPHP),

– bis(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl) phosphate (BDCIPP)

– isopropylphenyl phenyl phosphate (ip-PPP).

These chemicals are not bound so they are released into the air and dust and your body. It is known that not washing your hands several times a day especially before eating increases levels of chemical in your body.

Interestingly this study was not designed to look for this but an incidental finding in women average age 35 seeking fertility care.

BTW – Well known is the fact that many chemicals can disrupt normal hormone function including phthalates and pesticides.
